What to expect when visiting
How to find Dereham Baptist Church
The main service is at 10:30am on a Sunday morning. For details of other services, please contact the church office.
Dereham Baptist Church aims to be as friendly as possible for visitors. There are several free car parks around the town, from which the Church is a short walk away. For disabled access, there is limited parking on the church premises.
When you enter the church, there'll be people on the door who will greet you and answer any questions you may have. You can choose to sit either upstairs or downstairs. When you enter the main sanctuary, there will be people who will give you a notice sheet and a song sheet. If you suffer from poor eyesight, they will be delighted to provide you with a large-print copy. Also, if you wear a hearing aid, please switch it to 'T' to take advantage of the loop system.
When the service starts, there will generally be a time of "worship." This is simply when we spend time thanking God and reflecting on him using songs. Most of our songs are modern, and our music team includes pianists, guitars and drummers. If you feel uncomfortable joining in, feel free to simply sit and listen. The songs will be interspersed by times of prayer and talks.
After the worship, someone will bring the Word of God in a talk. This is intended to reflect on one part of the Bible and how it affects our lives. If after the service you wish to have someone talk to you, pray with you or simply to answer any questions you may have, please make your way to one of the marked prayer areas.
If at any point during the service you wish to take your child to the crêche, it can be found by going through one of the upstairs doors and turning right. School-aged children will go out after about 1/2 hour of the service. This will be clearly indicated by whoever is leading that part of the service.
After the service, tea and coffee will be served in the back hall. It is free and our way of getting to know you.
